Garnet Manley is entering his 10th Season as the Head Coach of the Cavaliers, sporting an impressive 666-95-7 career record at JF . His overall career record is 698-97-7 which includes one year as Head Coach at Liberty Christian Academy in 1988.
He has coached numerous golfers who have moved on to the college ranks, as well as 6 All-State, 14 All-Region, 25 All-District and 5 Seminole District Players of the Year over those years. His JF teams have advanced to the VHSL 4A State Championship Tournament four times, finishing as Runner-Up in 2014 and 2013, while placing 6th in 2019 and '18. His teams have been Seminole District Champions all eight years that Manley has been the Cav's coach.
Accordingly, Manley has been honored many times in his eight years at the helm. He has been chosen Region Coach of the Year in 2014 and 2013, Sub-Region COY in 2016, Seminole District COY all eight years between 2012-19. He was also the 1988 Virginia Independent Conference COY.
Manley played golf for the University of Lynchburg from 1983-87. He also played for Rustburg High School in 1982 and '83.
Manley earned a Bachelor Degree in Political Science from the University of Lynchburg in 1987. He currently resides in Forest with his wife Lorri, who is the Principal at Forest Elementary School. He has a daughter Rachel Lynn Manley and son Garnet Manley III, who is currently playing golf for Campbell University.
