 Johnston has been the JF Head Boys Tennis Coach since 2016 and was Assistant Coach for the preceeding two years.

He has amassed a 71-39 record at JF as Head Coach.

Johnston has 28 years of tennis playing experience including 4 years playing for Jefferson Forest from 2005-2008.   He was a VHSL AA Individual and Doubles State Semi-finalist in 2008.

He also was the RVITT Mens 4.0 Singles Champion in 2016 and a 2007 Virginia Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist in singles and doubles.  In 2006 he was the Virginia Commonwealth Games Silver medalist in Singles and Doubles.

Coach Johnston earned a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering with a minor in Green Engineering from Virginia Tech.
