It is the responsibility of the student-athlete to make sure they are in compliance with all rules and regulations!

GENERAL START DATES FOR 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR:

FALL SPORTS

Starts July 24, 2023: Golf

Starts July 27, 2023: Sideline Cheer, Competition Cheer, Football

Starts July 31, 2021: Cross Country, Volleyball

WINTER SPORTS

Starts November 6, 2023: Basketball, Indoor Track, Swim & Dive, Wrestling

SPRING SPORTS

Starts February 19, 2024: Baseball, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Track & Field

Participation requirements:

1.  BEFORE participating in any contest or practice, or pre-season conditioning, or out-of-season practice, the student-athlete must turn in a signed and completed current VHSL Athletic Participation/Parental Consent/Physical Exam Form (ALL 4 pages): a new form is required for each school year.  Be sure to use the REVISED January 2021 form This form can be found at https://www.vhsl.org/forms/ Under the tab labled "Physical Forms"

2.  A student-athlete must satisfactorily complete (pass) the equivalent of five (5) courses in which he/she was enrolled in the previous semester AND have continuous enrollment in five (5) classes for the school year.  

3.  The student-athlete shall not have reached the age of 19 on or before the first day of August 1, 2023.

4.  The student-athlete should not be enrolled in school for more than ten (10) semesters -5 years- beginning with the 8th grade year.

5.  Student-athletes must submit a completed Parental Consent Verification Form, found on page 20 of the BCPS Athletic Requirements, Responsibilities, and Required Signatures 2023-2024 form distributed by the coach to team members.
