Joey Lyons is in his third year as the Head Athletic Trainer at Jefferson Forest. Before joining JF, Lyons was an Athletic Trainer at Liberty University for five years, working with many teams, including the Womens Field Hockey and Lacrosse teams.

Lyons is originally from Taylor, Michigan, located just outside of Detroit.  He graduated from Truman High School, where he played basketball for four years. 

After high school, he worked full time and went to a couple different colleges before finally settling in at Liberty University, graduating in 2014 with a Bachelors Degree in Health Sciences - Athletic Training.  Shortly thereafter, he passed the boards and became a licensed athletic trainer.  He served in a graduate assistant position at Liberty University working as an Athletic Trainer while earning a Masters of Education -Leadership degree in 2017. 

Lyons currently resides in Lynchburg with his wife Carly.
