Coach Jeffrey Monroe is in his third year as the Head Coach of the Cavaliers Boys Basketball program.   In his first year at the helm, he led the Cavs to a second place finish in the Seminole District with an impressive 18-7 record, before exiting the playoffs with a tight 4-point loss to G.W.-Danville.

Originally from Altavista, VA, Coach Monroe has over twenty years coaching experience at the high school and college level in Virgina.  Before coming to JF, Monroe was the Head Boys Basketball Coach for four years at Skyline High School in Front Royal, VA, where he also served as the Head Baseball Coach for two years.  In 2014-15, he was the Head Mens Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Virginia University of Lynchburg.  Prior to coaching at VUL, he was Head Boys Basketball Coach at Liberty High School for nine years and Head Softball Coach for six years.  His 2008-09 Boys team was the Region III Champion, earning a trip to the VHSL Final Four Tournament in Richmond.  Before that, he was Head Boys Basketball Coach for five years and Head Girls Basketball Coach for three years at Chatham High School, winning the Region B Boys Championship in 2005 and playing in the VHSL A State Boys Basketball Championships.  He also coached football, track & field, baseball and JV basketball at Altavista High School for two years, and was an assistant coach for the basketball, football and track & field teams for 6 years while at Rustburg High School.

Coach Monroe was selected 2001 Dogwood District Coach of the Year and Region B Coach of the Year in 2005.

Monroe teaches Health & Physical Education at Jefferson Forest and is also a certified Driver Education Teacher.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois in 1992.

Coach Monroe currently resides in Forest.
