Tarah Page became the Athletic and Activities Secretary March 1 2023, and is excited to be part

of the Jefferson Forest family where she is able to combine her skills and passions in this position.

Born and raised in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, athletics has always been a major part of Tarah’s life. As captain of her school’s competitive cheer squad, basketball, volleyball and softball teams, she learned the value of commitment, teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Her athletic abilities and accomplishments earned her placement on All-Division, All-Region, and All-State teams, but her positive attitude and sportsmanship earned her the respect, nominations, and votes of coaches from opposing teams. After lettering fifteen times, Tarah set a school record and was presented an Iron-Woman Award by her high school athletic director and principal.

Tarah credits her coaches for not only developing athletic excellence but is grateful for the time they spent reinforcing the life-long values of commitment, teamwork, humility, and perseverance. Tarah has assisted in running elementary sports’ programs in the summer and coaching middle and high school volleyball and basketball for two seasons, in addition to her hometown Little League fast-pitch softball team for two seasons.

Tarah moved to Lynchburg in 2011 and worked at the University of Lynchburg as the Lead Security Officer and Staff Liaison for an Inclusive Community. There, she was responsible for overseeing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives while leading professional development training for campus staff.

Tarah is a passionate volunteer for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, YWCA, United Way, and other local organizations. She continues to play both women’s and co-ed softball and volleyball year-round and often travels with her husband, Jason, who works as an NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball referee.

Tarah and Jason reside in Forest and are the proud parents of five children who attend Bedford County Public Schools.
