Coach Zaring is entering his 7th year as Cavaliers Head Coach. Before becoming the Head Coach, he was an Assistant Coach for five seasons, including the VHSL AA State Championship team in 2011. As Head Coach, he most recently led JF to the the 2021 Class 4A State Final, finishing with a 14-1 record. His teams were also the 2020 Region 4D champs, 2019 & 2021 Seminole District Champions. He was honored in 2023, 2021 and 2019 as the Seminole District Coach of the Year.
Additionally, Coach Zaring is entering his 6th year as an Assistant Coach for Chris Yeager's University of Lynchburg Men’s Soccer Team. He also was Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Widener University in Pennsylvania in 2016, FC Richmond staff coach, and currently coaches for Central Virginia United.
Zaring played college soccer for Randolph College and Southern Virginia University, where he was chosen 2nd Team All-Capital Athletic Conference at Goalkeeper, before finishing his career at Lynchburg College.
In high school, Zaring was four year letterwinner at goalkeeper for the Cavaliers, earning All-District, All-Region and All-State honors. He holds the JF school record for fewest career goals allowed.
Zaring holds USSF D and USSF Goalkeeper 1, 2 & 3 licenses.
Zaring graduated from the University of Lynchburg in 2016 with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Higher Education and Leadership in 2018. He works in the Business Department at JF, teaching Personal Finance and Sport/Entertainment Marketing.
