Stuart Gibbs enters his 1st year as Head Coach of Jefferson Forest Cross Country after serving as Assistant Coach in 2021.  He is very passionate about running and has been involved in the sport for eight years.  Gibbs started running in order to get in shape and to run a marathon with friends.  Running a marathon turned the sport of running into a passion for Gibbs.

Gibbs is originally from Farmville, Virginia and moved to Forest his sophomore year of high school. He graduated from Jefferson Forest High School in 2002 and then attended Liberty University.  Gibbs previously spent ten years teaching at Staunton River High School, where he coached Debate and Scholastic Bowl for four years.  Gibbs has taught in Bedford County for fifteen years.

Gibbs currently teaches AP US History and African American History, serves as the Social Studies Department Chair, and sponsors the National Honor Society at JFHS.  Gibbs resides in Boonsboro with his wife and two children.

Gibbs looks forward to continuing the tradition of excellence in cross country started by Coach Jerome Loy and continued by Coach Colby DelBene.
