Jefferson Forest is lucky to have the husband and wife team of Niki and Spence White leading our Theatre Department and Film Festival program.   Under their direction, JF Theatre has risen to prominence, winning the three VHSL 4A State Theatre Championship in 2019, 2020, and 2021. JF Film has two VHSL State Championships and three State Audience Choice Awards.

Niki White originally hails from Big Spring, Texas.  She graduated from Lloyd V. Berkner Hign School in Richardson, TX and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Southern Methodist University in 1992.

Mrs. White worked on Broadway from 1999-2010 as the Backstage Kid Wrangler for The Lion King.  Her regional theatre work includes The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and three TheatreWorks USA touring productions.  She has taught acting at The Academy Center of the Art's Encore Youth Theatre and Missoula Children's Theatre, and is the founder/CEO of ala niki Handmade Candy.

Spence White is a Lynchburg native and a graduate of E. C. Glass High School.  He attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where he met his future wife Niki, and earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1990.  He then moved to New York City to earn his Master of Fine Arts degree from New York University in 1993.

Mr. White's professional theatre experience includes Hamlet on Broadway with Ralph Fiennes (1995 Tony Nominee, Best Revival of a Play), roles at The Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, the Milwaukee Repertory Theater, the Dallas Theater Center, the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, the Lincoln Center Institute, The Lost Colony, and nine Texas Shakespeare Festival productions.  

His TV work includes NBC's "Law & Order," "All My Children," "One Life to Live," and several national commercials.

Mr. and Mrs. White currently reside in Lynchburg with their dog Ruthie and cat Monkey.
