When generating documents, you have three options to populate the Contract Date. Each option determines when the date will appear on the document.
Populates the date the contract was generated for the deal.
This is the same date the deal was created.
Best for: When you want the contract date tied directly to deal creation.
Populates the date the first purchaser signed the contract.
Requirement: The purchaser must have already signed the contract before the document is generated.
If the purchaser has not signed yet, the Contract Date will not appear on the document.
Best for: When documents are added after execution, e.g., Amendment receipts, MTA, Notice of Completion, etc.
Populates the date the first purchaser signed the contract, even if the contract sign after the document is generated.
Requirement: The purchaser must sign the document for the Contract Date to populate.
Behavior:
When the document is first generated → The Contract Date field is blank.
Once the purchaser signs the document → The Contract signing Date is automatically populated.
Best for: When documents could be used either during deal creation or after execution.
