Lexical Diversity in English Writing: Lessons from a Broad Corpus Sample
This study examined the lexical diversity in the writing of English learners, using a large-scale corpus. Lexical diversity initially increased as L2 proficiency increased, but then plateaued. There was also substantial variability across texts, and outliers and task effects played a substantial role.
