Room Parents

A room parent assists each homeroom with a variety of activities throughout the school year. This is a very important role and we are always grateful for offers to help. The type of assistance needed, however, may look different in each classroom. In general, a room parent facilitates communication between teacher and parents for special events and also supports the teacher with any needs that may arise during the course of the year. Specific responsibilities are shared with the room parent by the teacher.

If you are interested in volunteering your time as a room parent, a sign-up sheet will be available in each classroom during our Open House. Room parents will be selected from these lists and will be contacted by the Lower School Office. In order to be fair and inclusive during the selection process, preference will be given to volunteers who have not been an ASM room parent in the past and to those who are not currently serving as a room parent for another room.
