 IDEAL PREPARATION FOR A CREATIVE FUTURE

In your MSP courses, you may visit our museum. The Art Institute of Chicago, is an integral part of our students’ experience. Visits to the galleries are a key component of most classes. Be prepared to have your student teach you about their favorite pieces in our collection!

 Students will develop social and emotional skills like confidence, creative thinking, communication and much more. Our youth programs are designed to allow students to focus on their interests, learn new skills, and bring their ideas to life.  Our courses are great ways to make new friends with other youth who share similar interests.

WHAT WILL LEARNING LOOK LIKE?

Students will have access to amazing arts-based resources provided by faculty. Each course provides an immersive experience that teaches young makers both conceptual and technical skills, while allowing them the freedom to explore and innovate. 

Term Details & Instructional Modes and Formats

The Middle School Program offers ON-CAMPUS courses only

In the Fall and Spring, classes meet in 3-hour sessions with a 15 minute snack break for 10 Saturdays

• Morning classes meet from 9 am to 12 pm

• Afternoon classes meet from 1 to 4 pm

In the Summer, Classes meet Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm with a 15 minute snack break and an hour lunch 

Each class works with a Teaching Assistant in addition to an Instructor
