Get Started with Zoom

If you are enrolled in a synchronous online course, you will be using Zoom for video conferencing on a regular basis. Asynchronous online courses often also have optional video conferencing sessions.

You will need to download Zoom in advance of the first class.

• Starting the Zoom Desktop Client - Select the download that corresponds with your computer, tablet, or phone. 

• Joining a meeting

All live sessions are scheduled in Central Time. Use World Time Buddy to compare Central Time with your current timezone. 

Although synchronous online courses are scheduled for specific meeting times, you will not necessarily spend the entire time on Zoom every session. Course participation and activities will be structured in a way that best suits the course content and students enrolled. In addition to lectures, presentations, and group discussions, instructors may provide independent or small group sessions during the scheduled class meeting.
