Lesson 6 & 7- EPI aim, variables, apparatus & background

In the following two weeks you will be working through the first Extended Practical Investigation (EPI)

• You will not be assessed for this task (Weighting: 0%)
• It is a review of the Scientific method which is usually tested in every test taken in Science.
• It will allow you to develop your scientific inquiry skills
• Modeling and feedback will be provided during this task so you can improve your skills

The assessed EPI will take place in Term 3.

EPI Weighting: 25% of total year mark.

• Like last years’ practice EPI the ‘Pendulum experiment’ the whole class will be provided with the same inquiry question and will conduct the same experiment to collect data

You are encouraged to collaborate with your group to discuss the task and learn how to best address the requirements and depth of writing required by the Scientific report.
