Step 1: Apply for COF
Go to the COF website:
Visit cof.college-assist.org
Click “Apply Now” on the home page.
Follow these instructions to complete the online application:
Age Verification:
Enter your date of birth in this format: MM/DD/YYYY (for example, 08/15/2006). Click Next.
Student Identification:
Enter your Social Security Number (SSN) – numbers only, no dashes. Confirm it, then click Next.
If you see a message in red saying: “An account may have been created by a college/university on your behalf,” click the
link to retrieve your account instead of creating a new one.
Finish the Application:
Click Submit on the last page. A confirmation page will appear.
Note: It may take up to 48 hours for Adams State to receive your COF application.
Step 2: Authorizing COF in Workday
After you apply, you also need to authorize Adams State to use your COF benefits to help pay your tuition.
Here’s how:
Log in to Workday (your student portal).
In the search bar, type:
Create Request
When Create Request appears in the drop-down list, click on it.
In the Request Type box:
Click on the three bars to the right.
In the menu, select All.
Then choose Update COF Authorization, and click OK.
Select “Yes, I do authorize the use.”
Then click Submit.
Note: It may take up to 48 hours for Adams State to update your COF authorization.
