View Advising Notes
This process is for new and continuing students to view notes from academic advising sessions with their academic advisor.
Considerations
Workday uses Student Notes as a way to communicate with students, staff, and faculty regarding a student’s academic record.
Advisors will leave notes on your record to document a conversation or decision made around your program of study or academic progress.
These notes should not replace in person conversations or emails with advisors, as students are not able to leave notes in Workday.
Students will follow these steps to access the History worklet in Workday to view academic advising notes.
From the Workday Landing Page, select the Profile icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. In the box that opens, select View Profile.
If the student has a student job on campus, the student employee profile will be the default screen under your profile. To switch to a student profile, select the blue hyperlink of the student name under the Student heading.
From the blue menu on the left-hand side of the screen, select History.
The Notes History table will list all of the notes available to view.
The first two columns detail the date(s) and time(s) the notes were created.
The third column lists the note category, such as Academic Advising, Academic Records, Financial Account or Financial Aid.
The fourth column listed the topic of the note.
The fifth column lists the person who created the note.
The last column contains the content of the note.
Navigate the table to find the specific academic advising note in question. Use the inverted triangle at the top rand-hand corner of the table to filter the results of the table in order to more quickly find the note you are looking for.
If a note’s content is longer than the characters allowed on the table, click the Related Actions button (rectangular button with three dots) next to the blue Note Content text. The note will open in a new window to view the entire note.
