Setting up Your Adams State Student Account
Once you have completed your application and your school counselor has sent in your most recent transcript to us for verification of admission requirements, you will be admitted as an Adams State Student. You will now need to set up your account and Authorize COF payments to Adams State University on your behalf.
Once your admission is complete, you will be sent an Acceptance Letter at the email your used when first beginning the application process. Your letter will have your Adams State Username, your Adams State email address and your Adams State student ID number.
It will then give basic instructions on how to complete the account set-up. Continue here for the more detailed step-by-step.
2. You will first need to set a password for your account by going to https://password.adams.edu
Click on the Forgotten Password button underneath the sign in boxes.
3. You will now enter in your Adams State Username found on your letter and your Adams State Student ID number.
Click "Search" when done and it will ask what email you want your reset link sent to. Make sure that you use an email you can access right away! (Not the one that ends with "adams.edu")
4. Go to your chosen email and click on the link sent.
If you don't see the email, check your Spam folder! This often goes into the Spam box.
If you don't get the email within 2 minutes, close all the tabs and try one more time from scratch.
If you still don't get the email, or if you do not have access to the email the link is being sent to, call Computing Services at (719) 587-7741 for support.
5. Create your new password.
You will use this new password to get access to your Adams State email, Blackboard classes, and your student account. Make sure you create a password that you can remember!
6. Now that you have created your account password, you can close all your tabs and we'll get started setting up your email account.

You will know it's complete when you see a small green check next to your phone number on this 2-Step Verfication menu.
