Unsuccessful Registration
A list of unsuccessful registrations will appear on the registration confirmation page. Check the Reason column to understand why the listed course failed to successfully register.
Waitlisted Courses
A list of all waitlisted courses will appear on the registration confirmation page. A course may be waitlisted because the open enrollment for the course is already full, there are no unreserved seats, or the course is Permission Required/Registration by Waitlist only.
Already Registered
If a student attempts to register for a course in which they are already enrolled, an alert message will appear on their screen stating that they are already registered for the course.
Too Many Units
If a student attempts to register for more than the maximum units allowed for the registration period, they will receive an error message and will be prevented from successfully registering for additional courses.
Course Conflicts in Meeting Time
If a student attempts to register for course sections with conflicting meeting times, an error message will display listing the conflicting courses. Students will not be able to move forward with registration until this issue is resolved.
To resolve this issue, a student can:
Cancel the current registration of the selected course section.
Search for a different course section that does not conflict with the schedule of the successfully enrolled course. Or drop the conflicting course from registration in favor of the new course.
Request permission to enroll in the course despite the time conflict. The student should use the Registration Request Form to receive the instructors signature, and then submit the completed form to the Office of the Registrar.
Unsatisfied Prerequisites
Some courses have prerequisites (things that must be completed prior to enrolling in a course). If there is a prerequisite on the course, you can see it under the "Eligibility" section when viewing the course section information.
