Issues
Arrived ready to investigate breakers tripping when dome lights are turned on and the situation with the dome slit cable. Happily, found a solution for the breakers tripping, dome slit cable seems fine, though the cover plate is in typically poor shape. Details:
The new dome light switches draw power from the "dome" breaker, but the original switching drew from other breakers. When both sets of switches are on a short is created between two sides of the breaker panel, resulting in tripping multiple breakers, and thus disabling both lights and the dome. We removed the old switches for the dome, leaving the only source of power for the dome lights the dome circuit, through the new switches. We also unplugged the cable for the switches on the dome elevator's railing, which led to confusion as they are a second way to control lights in the dome and control room. There are no more switches covered with tape, as no harm seems to come from any light switches now.
The dome slit cable seem fine, but the cover plate for the cable's jack was removed, and it's not obvious how to seat the jack back in the cover plate. Maybe time to make a new cover plate and bolt everything together securely?
Groceries
Do not bring any more water up! We have lots and lots, both blue jugs and in the fridge. Also a lot of cream cheese. We could use a spray cleaner and paper plates.
Water
Water went from 26" to 25" during our stay. The outside tank was at 48" (5264 gallons).
