Job Description: The Scribe is the troop’s secretary. He attends meetings of the PLC and keeps a record of attendance, discussions and decisions. He cooperates with the patrols to record troop meeting attendance. A member of the troop committee may assist him with his work.
Attendance: Is part of your job! You are expected to attend at least 75% of troop meetings and activities. You are expected to attend at least 66% of PLC meetings. If you are not attending a meeting, make sure you designate a Scout in advance to perform your duties. You must contact the SPL if you are not going to be at a meeting and let him know who will be performing your duties.
Notes: Is an integral part of the troop! To be a good Scribe you need to attend nearly all troop and PLC meetings. Attend and keep a log of PLC meeting minutes, typed copies are forwarded to the Scoutmaster and SPL within 24 hours of the meeting. Record individual Scout attendance by way of coordination with patrol leaders.
