The Boy Scout program encourages Scouts to learn and practice leadership skills. Every Boy Scout has the opportunity to participate in both shared and total leadership situations. Understanding the concepts of leadership helps a Scout accept the leadership role of others and guides him toward the citizenship aim of Scouting.
The top Scout position in Troop 268 is the Senior Patrol Leader. Next are the Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders. Senior Scouts also serve as Troop Guides, mentoring younger Scouts. Then come Patrol Leaders, Assistant Patrol Leaders and other Positions of Responsibility such as the Instructor, Scribe and so on.
