Troop 268 has been serving Colorado Springs for over 35 years.
The Troop is a member of the Frontier District of the Pathway to the Rockies Council.
Our Charter Organization is Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4051.
As our Charter Organization, VFW Post 4051 sponsors our Troop, provides meeting spaces, approves our Adult leadership, and supports our Troop in all of our Scouting activities.
We are proud of our youth leadership development. Troop 268 is a Scout-led Troop which utilizes the Patrol Method.
The Troop annually sends Scouts to National-level youth leadership development training programs. We are very proud of the tradition of excellence that has allowed a high percentage of our Scouts to attain the rank of Eagle, and we encourage every Scout to achieve this lofty goal.
We are equally proud of the continued tradition of exceptional adult volunteers. Many of our parents are either members of the Troop committee, active in leadership roles or volunteer to help with the many events and activities we hold each year.
Perhaps most importantly, Troop 268 is a FUN Troop! Each year, our Scouts plan a diverse calendar of trips and activities. In recent years we have gone camping, hiking, backpacking, swimming, canoeing, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, cycling, snow caving, ice fishing, skiing, and done many other fun and challenging activities. We have also participated in the Annual Freez-O-Ree, Klondike Derby, District Scout Camporees, National Scout Jamborees and, of course, our annual Summer Camp.
Our troop has been to places such as Yellowstone National Park, Mt. Rushmore National Park, Comanche National Grasslands, U.S. Air Force Academy; we have hiked Pikes Peak Barr Trail, Lake of the Clouds, and portions of the Santa Fe Trail many times, as well as camping at many other interesting places around Colorado.
Additionally, Troop 268 has sent many Scouts and leaders to attend the four BSA High Adventure Camps: Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, Northern Tier Canoe Trip in Minnesota, Sea Base in Florida and Bechtel Summit Reserve in West Virginia.
Come visit our Troop to see what great adventures await you this year!
