Rank Requirement: First Class, Star, Life or Eagle
Experience: Previous service in a PoR.
Reports to: Troop, SPL and Scoutmaster
Adult Mentor: Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster
Term: 6 months PLC: Member
Job Description: The ASPL works closely with the SPL to help the troop move forward and serves as acting SPL when the SPL is absent. Among his specific duties, the ASPL trains and provides direction to other members of the youth leadership team.
Attendance: As the second highest position the troop, it is expected that you will attend at least 75% of troop meetings and activities. You must contact the SPL if you are not going to be at a meeting.
Notes: The Assistant Senior Patrol Leader is the second highest ranking patrol leader in the troop. ASPLs are appointed by the SPL under the guidance of the Scoutmaster and in accordance with Troop 268 election policies. You will act as the Senior Patrol Leader in absence of the Senior Patrol Leader. There are two ASPL positions. One will be responsible for the Patrols and Troop Guide. The other will be responsible for troop Historian, OA Rep, Librarian, Quartermaster, Instructors, Chaplain Aide, Webmaster and Outdoor Ethics Guide.
