Job Description: The Den Chief works with a den of Cub Scouts and with their adult leaders. He takes part in den meetings, encourages Cub Scout advancement, and is a role model for younger boys. Serving as Den Chief can be a great first leadership experience for a Scout.
Attendance: You are expected to attend at least 50% of troop meetings and activities. You must contact the SPL if you are not going to be at a meeting. Besides normal attendance at the troop, you are expected to attend 80% of den meetings and pack functions as requested by the Den Leader.
Notes: Authorized by the Scoutmaster. You work closely with Cub Scouts, Webelos and Den Leaders in the Cub Scout Pack. The Den Chief provides knowledge of games and Scout skills and assists the Den Leader as much as possible. The Den Chief is also a recruiter for the troop. Ensure the Scoutmaster has the ability to contact your Den Leader and is given updates about your performance.
