Job Description: The Quartermaster is the troop’s supply boss. He keeps an inventory of troop equipment and sees that the gear is in good condition. He works with patrols as they check out equipment and return it, and at meetings of the PLC he reports on the status of equipment in need of replacement or repair. In carrying out his responsibilities, he may have the guidance of a member of the troop committee.
Attendance: You are expected to attend at least 66% of troop meetings and activities. You must contact the ASPL if you are not going to be at a meeting. The Quartermaster does most of his work immediately before and after activities. There are times when the Quartermaster has to be available to check equipment in and out. If you are not attending an activity, make sure you designate a Scout in advance to perform your duties.
Notes: Makes suggestions for new or replacement items. With the assistance of the monthly patrol-in-charge, gets the US, troop, and patrol flags for meetings and ceremonies and puts them away afterwards. Police the meeting space for forgotten items and make sure it is left in good condition. Maintain a lost and found for the troop.
