LSH Crime Scene Investigation - Collect and summarize data associated with a fictional crime scene and construct a narrative of events inferred from collected evidence.
Prep students by giving them the following baseline questions:
· Who is the perpetrator, and who is the victim?
· What happened, when, and why?
· How did the crime happen?
· Where did it happen (the location of the body is not always at the primary crime scene)?
· What is the evidence?
Students will take paper and a writing utensil to visit a staged crime scene. Students are given 10 – 15 to sketch the scene, make observations, and write down relevant notes.
Pod Data Processing Session – Pods will discuss notes and inferences based on data collected. Each pod will share a hypothesis based on data observed and collected from the crime scene.
Reflection: What from the crime scene stood out? What clues did you use to determine what happened? How would this be useful today? What information would we gather today that we may not have gathered two hundred years ago?
