IT grades are on a total point system. Each assignment must be completed as per the instructors directives.
Deadlines:
Students have a minimum of 1 week's time from the end of that class to turn in assignments for full credit. Due dates will be posted in Google Classroom and on the assignment schedule located on this site's Homepage.
This builds in time for absences, extra-help, and student plans that require extended time. After the deadline passes, you will not receive credit for the assignment.
Last minute emergencies will not excuse a late assignment. Final due dates are over 7 days after the allotted class time.
Each of the IT instructors stay for extra-help multiple times each week. The library also has after school hours Monday-Wednesdays.
If you complete an assignment late you MUST email your teacher and notify them what assignment you completed late. (We will not magically know and check it)
Email/ Google Classroom Responsibility:
Checking your school Google email and Google Classroom on a daily basis is an important habit for you to develop.
If you forget to attach an assignment or attach the wrong file and the deadline passes, you will receive a "0".
You must double check your emails and uploads to Classroom before sending/ posting and then take the time to go to your sent items or uploads and make sure it is there.
PowerSchool Responsibility:
It is your responsibility to check the schedule and make sure PowerSchool is accurate before deadlines pass.
If you have no grade or a "0" in PowerSchool and the deadline passes, you will not be able to change it unless you have proof of the assignment being graded via email, hand-graded, or other submission method.
An assignment that is finished but ungraded and in your folder or hard drive is not proof that you met the deadline.
Self-Advocacy:
You are a HS student. It is YOUR grade. YOU should make the initial contact with us if your grade does not seem accurate.
Speak to us directly on free time or contact us via email, but realize you need to produce proof of inaccurate grades to have them changed.
