*Vans Lo Pros (Shoes)

“Vans Lo Pros”

I have won the shoe brand Vans for along time and own many pairs because they are comfortable and sturdy. I always bought the original Vans and was unaware that there were different models. So I decided that I was going to try a different style.

I ended up going with the “Lo Pros” which have a thinner sole than the original style.

When I first took them out of the shoe box they seemed flimsy.

I wore them for maybe a week when I realized that the canvas was detaching from the sole and fraying. I thought it was maybe just because I have wide feet but when I asked my friend(who has small narrow feet) she told me the same thing happened to her. Not only was the canvas coming off the shoe but the navy blue dye used to color them was fading leaving these annoying patches of light blue around the heel and toe. I eventually ended up taking a navy blue Sharpie and coloring in the faded areas. About a month later my family drove to Chelsea New York to look at the art galleries. Since it was New York you usually have to do a lot of walking and in this area there are cobblestone roads I decided to wear them because my other Vans were very comfortable walking shoes. But within at least twenty minutes my feet started to ache and I had blisters on back heel. This is something that has never happen with my other Vans. Also on the walk to the car to drive home it started to rain. When I got home I laid my shoes out to dry overnight because they did get wet. The next morning I realized that the glue used to attach the canvas to the sole had washed off due to the rain and the were covered in water stains. My other pairs of Vans have been worn in mud, snow, sand, and the rain and they stayed together. I actually had to glue the shoe back together.

Overall I am disappointed because I had such a good experience with other pairs of Vans in the past. Out of five stars I give these about a two and if I get another of Vans I am definitely going to get the originals.
