“Mike Trout Lunar cleats”

My name is Jake and I’m a seventh grader in middle school. I played baseball as far back as I could remember, I played travel baseball my whole life along with the recreational baseball program for extra practice. As I got bigger, better and older the fields, bats, gloves and cleats did to. This was the first year I got to play with metal cleats for the big Major League sized field.

I always had really comfortable and stylish cleats for all the years that I played. Since I needed a new pair of metal cleats instead of the old rubber and plastic ones I got the Mike Trout Lunar Nike cleats. When I first saw them I knew that they were the perfect cleat for me. The prior cleats that I had were the same shape as these and so I immediately knew that these were my new cleats. I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree after all.

The cleats had two primary colors the bottom would stay neon yellow no matter what the top color. But, the top color was up to you. They had almost every baseball team color, at least the popular ones like blue, red, green, and those popular MLB team colors. When I saw a picture of them I noticed that the metal had Nike signs on them along with a slick look. As I got more interested in them I went to Nike.com and read the description on them. It kept mentioning that it had a nine configuration for maximum grip. I didn’t think this meant much considering my old ones had seven and I would never be able to tell the difference without counting them.

I have had these cleats for about six months and I could not begin to tell you how comfortable these actually were. I don’t wear them everyday, but as soon as I slipped them on I could just tell they were made out of quality material. As I mentioned before about the nine configuration, you really can feel the difference. I used to slip all the time with my other ones mostly because they didn’t dig into the field like metal but also because there wasn’t as many spikes as the new metal ones did.

Although I really love this cleat there are some cons about them. For example they are a little bulkier than I was hoping and they felt like there was some room for my foot to move around. Another con is that they are bright so if you are on first base, the pitcher can very easily see your feet. The final con is that the cleats laces are very slippery so they untie a lot. Some pros about this is that they are really comfortable and have great support for my ankle. Another pro is that they are very stylish so you don’t have to worry about having cleats that look like they are from 1998. Finally I think that it really grips the dirt or grass so you don’t worry about tripping.

I give the Mike Trout Lunar cleat a four out of five stars. Even though I love this cleat very much I feel like Nike could have done a bit better and some more customizable features considering the bottom color is always the same.
