*Madden 15 (Video Game)

“Rush” to the Store, “Pass” the other games, and Buy This Game!

50 Omaha Set Hut! Recognize the phrasing at all? Ever hear of Peyton Manning? NO?! Well, you are missing out! The football season may have terminated last week, but that’s no excuse to give up the Xbox One, PS4, and iOS video game “Madden 15!” My name is Nicholas, and I love sports. Even if you’re not that into football, like me, this game seems to have a way to suck you into the game, forcing you to never leave. What does it have, you say? Just incredible graphics, exhilarating gameplay, and thrilling music. Not enough for you? Alright, there’s much more!

As I’ve mentioned earlier, one of the amazing functions of the video game is the graphics. Of course, the developers wanted to make the more well-known players such as Tom Brady and Antonio Brown look more like themselves rather than players such as Chris Pugh and Josh Johnson. But whether you’re using the best quarterback in the league, or the worst safety in the league, each and every player looks outstanding. But its not just the players. Everything from the Vince Lombardi trophy award ceremony to touchdown dances to even the fans in the stadium makes me feel like I am present at an authentic NFL game!

So how do you get these players you ask? You can either buy individual players at the Auction House, or you can test your luck by purchasing packs. I love to pull packs because there’s always that slight chance of getting a great player. There happens to be a wide variety of packs, such as Pro Packs, which are the standard packs in the game, or Premium Packs, which are packed with awesome players. But my favorite packs are the Legend Packs. These packs can sometimes contain an all-time great who played back in the day. These legends can be players such as Lawrence Taylor, Jerry Rice, Night Train Lane, and even modern-day legends like Larry Fitzgerald and Troy Polamalu. These legend cards happen to be some of the best cards in the game, but the most awesome part about them is that they have stats that resemble how they played back then. For example, Night Train Lane was a cornerback, but despite this, he was a great tackler. So in the game, he has outstanding tackling power. Even though I have never pulled a legend, I refuse to give up until I do, because once you do, it will feel great.

Although there are a lot of pros about this game, there are some things that I loathe. For example, sometimes the game can be extremely slow paced. Madden 15 seems like the type of game to be top-notch, yet the connection can be so horrendous sometimes that I literally get so frustrated that I just turn the game off. Why would you need connection if you just want to do a simple thing like buy a pack? Another thing I abhor is switching players on the field. Let’s say I was going to run the ball with Marshawn Lynch up the middle, and all of a sudden, the defense jams the middle. I can’t switch Marshawn Lynch to go to the outside, and the play ends up being a bust. I think the last thing I want to mention is just the lack of common sense. Sometimes I can be passing with Joe Montana, the greatest quarterback who ever lived, and he throws five interceptions to the worst team in the league, the Jets.

All in all, the value definitely beats the price. Paying only like $40 for a game that is probably one of the most best games ever?! That, my friend, is a steal! Overall, this game gets a 4.5/5 only really because of the difficulty of switching and the connection issues. So get moving and buy this game! Break!
