*Sono Sushi Restaurant in Middletown

“In Sushi Heaven 24/7”

Have you ever visited the best restaurant in New Jersey? I know I have! This place is, by far, Sono Sushi! It is a small Japanese restaurant in Middletown. I, a 13 year-old, have visited this restaurant about ten times so far and will definitely go there again in the future. I have eaten many exotic foods from places in this world I have visited: Greek, Puerto Rican, French, and my absolute favorite, Asian foods! I received so much more than I expected. From the outside, I thought it was going to be a run-down, old shack with dirty tables and chairs. But it certainly was not!

Sono Sushi is an adorable, small, restaurant with fabulous ambiance that makes you feel as if you are in Japan. It gives you that special vibe that you only feel when you are eating out at an expensive place. The only difference is that it is way cheaper! When you arrive, there is a warm rush of air; it is well heated and during the summer, well air-conditioned. To your left, there is the manager who will welcome you. As you are being seated, you can see that there is a sushi-bar to your right and that there are beautiful, old, paintings to your left. Overall, the place is clean, and the service is friendly. This is way better than Sushi Palace in the sense that their food is a lot fresher.

Pros of eating at Sono Sushi

    • delicious, fresh, foods
    • will leave positive impact on you, will want to visit it again
    • will be treated nicely
    • ambiance

Cons of eating at Sono Sushi

    • looks run-down on outside
    • may have to wait a while for foods
    • could get packed on weekends or in the evening

My experience in Sono Sushi was absolutely amazing. I visited this restaurant for the first time with my sister and dad. My father’s friend had recommended it for us. As we walked inside, we were welcomed in with a warm greeting by the manager. We were seated at a small table near the window.

As appetizers, we received a free soup and salad, which both tasted like heaven. While we were waiting for our food to arrive, my sister and I watched the professionals make sushi. It was just mind-boggling the way they chopped up the ingredients. But my favorite part was definitely the sushi. We ordered the Hot Crunchy Crab and M16. The rolls melted in my mouth.

Overall, this place has the full package. If the rolls costed more money, I would still buy them. They are totally worth it. I would give Sono Sushi a four and a half stars out of five stars for their tasty foods, friendly service, and nice ambiance. I gave off a half point because of the looks of the outside.
