Acer Touchscreen Chromebook Review

Welcome to the world of Acer Touchscreen Chromebooks! Well, you will be soon. You are still considering why you should buy one of these. Well, I am here to tell you that you should definitely buy one. Take it from a busy, tech geek, middle schooler. This device will rock your world, of work.

The Chromebook is not the same as a regular laptop. It doesn't run on a normal operating system, it runs on Chrome OS. This was designed specifically for Chromebooks! Now you might be wondering, “How does this change anything, it is still an operating system, right?” It is an operating system but most programs take forever to make ports to other operating systems. That means most programs will not be able to be downloaded onto your new Chromebook. Not that you need them, the Chromebook has a small memory capacity because it all runs on Google's new software. Their software such as docs, slides, and classroom works on the principle of the cloud, being all your data is stored in one massive server room. You are really only able to go on the internet with a Chromebook. Any color besides white will cost you more so beautification should not be in your best interest if buying a Chromebook.

The Chromebook greatly increases my day to day productivity. I can honestly say, I didn't expect much from a Chromebook, I just expected it to be a slow laptop wannabe for the price. The Chromebook costs 300 dollars, and I would gladly pay more for one of these. It doesn't slow at all and I have had it from September 2014 to February sixth 2015. I used it everyday and it still runs quick as a dog chasing a squirrel. It runs well with Google software, which my school uses constantly. It is also hard to get viruses because you can’t download them! This isn't even sarcastic, I am grateful for the fact that I can’t get viruses on my Chromebook. It is also small so it doesn't slow my movement from class to class.

As much as I like the Chromebook, I can’t get over the fact that it cannot download many programs. which can limit use on some websites. I also have not used the touch screen much in my life but for someone who needs to drag or draw on their Chromebook I can see the appeal.

Overall I would give the Acer Touchscreen Chromebook an eight out of ten. Though there are some problems with overall access to some websites, I do not find that abhorrent. I think all of the other features counteract these problems. My money would have been better spent without buying the touchscreen, but to buy that is more on what you need the Chromebook for. Even with that though, my money was well spent on something that condenses all my work into something that is extremely portable and organized. I over all find the Chromebook copacetic and recommend it to anyone.
