“Samsung Galaxy s5”

My name is Daniel. I’m a seventh grader. Some of my favorite activities and hobbies include playing football, baseball, basketball, and video games. I have many electronics at home, including an Ipad, Xbox 360, Chromebook, Kindle, Beats headphones, Wii, and a Samsung Galaxy s5, which is what I’ll be reviewing. This was not my first choice. I had first asked my parents for an Iphone 6, but they said that the Samsung Galaxy s5 was cheaper and superior to the Iphone. I was very skeptical, but in the end I agreed to get a Samsung.

I had lofty expectations of the phone. During the first month that I used it, it seemed decent. I used it every day and I still do. It had many great features, including a big screen (for my bad eyesight) and many apps already on it. Besides the setting, camera, and play store, it had features like NBA Game Time and Google Drive, which are very convenient. The play store had a variety of different apps and games that could be downloaded. The phone itself is slightly waterproof and extremely durable, as it doesn’t break even if you drop it from a fair height. Also, if you want to download a game you don’t need a password like Apple products do. These are some of the positive attributes to the Samsung Galaxy s5.

Don’t let the pros of this phone fool you, though. After about two months of using it, the Samsung Galaxy s5 reveals its flaws. You can only detect them after you use it for a longer period of time. First, the Samsung has a big screen. Even though you don’t have to strain your eyes to look at it, the screen is so wide that it can’t fit in your pocket. One of the major cons, seemingly every Samsung phone, is that it’s very slow. If you go on the internet and look something up, it takes a long time to get to the screen you’re looking for. Also, many games don’t work on the Samsung like they do on Apple products. Some respond when you click on them that you need to be connected to the internet when you were already connected. (ex. Madden Mobile) Others don’t load at all and some are different versions than on Apple products. (ex. NBA 2K15 and Minion Rush) In addition, some apps that can be downloaded on Apple products are incompatible to the Samsung. If you try to download the app, you’ll get a notification saying that this app can’t be downloaded. These are some of the many cons of the Samsung Galaxy s5.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy s5 was very disappointing. It’s nothing compared to the Iphone or any Apple product for that matter. It was very unfulfilling of my expectations. Out of five stars, I’d give the phone a two star rating. I didn’t abhor the phone, but I didn’t enjoy it either. So as I wrap up my review, I’ll give all of you readers out there a tip. If you want a new phone, get the Iphone 6. Don’t make the mistake I made.
