“The Yamaha Alto Saxophone 23 (used)

Using an old saxophone that was made for students for 4 entire years is not an easy feat to complete. I am 12 years old and I play the saxophone pretty frequently, almost everyday. I perform in my school band and I also play at home. During my 4 year saxophone career, I have been using a very unsatisfactory and amateurish saxophone, however, after getting this product, the Yamaha Alto Saxophone 23, despite the fact that it was used, my performance has improved substantially.

This product has a fantabulous and clearly audible sound quality. The saxophone has all the keys in the right place and there are no missing pieces or loose screws on the product. However, even though the saxophone sounds incredible, it does not look very nice. The saxophone is known for its magnificent, brassy and shiny gold look. But this saxophone looks quite dull. Some of the paint has rubbed off on some parts and there are small dents in the saxophone around the neck. However, this product is still great for me because I don’t really care much about how the saxophone looks, I was merely looking for an improvement from my substandard student saxophone.

This product costed about $600, but the actual product, if you bought it new, would have costed about $800-$900. Even though $600 seems like a pretty large amount of money that can be put to better use, if you are a devoted saxophone player, every penny you spend will be worth it. I bought this product with my own money, but if I was able to, I would have payed $1000 for this product.

Even with all those amazing qualities of the product, I was a little disappointed with the fact that this product came with no reed or neckstrap. When you buy a saxophone, the instrument should come with those two things because without them, you cannot play the instrument at all. The reed is what makes the sound and the neckstrap is what enables you to hold the product. However, this was made up for because the product came with a brand new case that is very useful.

Overall, I think that since I was looking for an improvement from a rusty, horrible saxophone, I really liked this product. But if you care about the aesthetic aspect of saxophones and want to be able to perform with the shiny brass instrument illuminating and glowing around you, then I would recommend you buy a new version of this product. I give the product a 8 out of 10 stars and not a 9 or a 10 because of the absence of the reed and neckstrap that are really vital to the instrument and the poor aesthetic quality of the product. However this product is still amazing to use and I do not regret buying it at all.

After a careful perusal and 3 months of using this product, I want to say that this product is perfect more me, but if you are somebody who plays the saxophone for performances, I recommend you buy the new version of the saxophone if you able to spend an extra $200-$300. But if you just play a saxophone as a hobby then you should get the used version of the product.
