*Low Top Converse (shoes)

“Converse”

I received my first pair of converse when I was 9 years old. Now, as a 13 year old, I am still wearing the same pair of sneakers. Of course, over the years I have gotten more of these shoes, adding to a total of four, but my favorite will forever be my black low-tops. I had expected these sneakers to break in about a year or two, due to excessive wear or my foot outgrowing them. But now, 4 years later, I am still wearing these shoes almost everyday, with no damage other than discoloration.

There are many positives to this brand of shoes. First, there is a variety of options to choose from when deciding what you want your sneakers to look like. There is the famous ‘high-tops’, but there is also low-tops, which I prefer, but completely up to the buyer. Also, there is many different colors and patterns to choose from when selecting these shoes, so everyone gets to show off their own taste in fashion, while still keeping the ‘Chuck Taylor’ name, which included the white rubber around the toes, white laces and extreme comfort. Lastly, the durability in these shoes is indescribable. They can withstand any type of weather condition or any location- snow, rain, heat, or the beach, park, and school. They can handle anything. They have survived many years with me, and are still as good as new.

Even with as many pros to these shoes, there are also a few cons. I bought my pair of sneakers for around $25 dollars a few years ago. Today, the company has boosted up the price of the shoes to around $45 dollars. While this is rather expensive, especially since they are just shoes, these sneakers are worth every penny, honestly. Secondly, these brand as a difficult sizing system. Some people say to go down 2 smaller sizes when buying, because they will stretch. Others, say go up a size for more room. I have all of my Converse in a size that is my actual size, so it can get a little confusing in the buying process. The sneakers can also cause irritations to the foot, such as blister or sores, if you were them for a long amount of time. While these minor injuries fade away quickly, they can still cause pain when the foot is still confided in the shoe.

A similar shoe that most owners of Converse like is Vans. This is because these shoes are alike the Chuck Taylor sneakers in price and colors, but also are very different in look and feel. I would give these shoes a 9 out of 10. This is because they have been so with standable, and comfortable over all these years, but do have some problems as mentioned before. Other than those small reasons, Converse are the best shoes you can buy if you want to show off your own sense of style.
