*HP Chromebook With 14" Diagonal Screen

Review of 14” Diagonal Screen HP Chromebook

As a seventh grader, many of my school assignments are done online, so I often hog the computer in my house. As a result of that, my parents are unable to use the computer, so they bought for me a turquoise HP Chromebook with a 14” diagonal screen that weighs approximately 3 pounds.

At first, I was confused about how to use the Chromebook, but over a time span of about 3 months, I slowly adjusted to the apps and signing in with my email instead of a separate password used only for unlocking the computer. The change was kind of nerve-racking; I couldn’t find where everything was and had to download something in order to see my downloads. One time, I accidentally deleted my calculator extension when I wanted to clear the browsing history. It was a big mess, and learning to deal with this was tedious, but I gradually learned that I didn’t have to do all that extra work to access the things that I wanted.

Before buying this Chromebook, I expected it to have a clear screen, load websites quickly, start up and shut down quickly, and have a lot of 4G mobile data remaining after bringing it to school and using it every day. However, not all of my expectations were met; the 4G mobile data ran out after I brought the Chromebook to school and used it for every class and during lunch for one day. But the Chromebook did have a clear screen, and it did all that I expected it to do in a short amount of time.

Before I got this Chromebook, I had to wait for 15 minutes for the computer to start up and open the website or file I needed for homework. This was really bothersome, and it wasted a lot of my time. Many times, I got so annoyed I went into the kitchen to eat something while the computer was starting up, only to realize after eating that the process was not done, since I still had to open the document. With this Chromebook, it only takes a total of one minute for the computer to do its work, and then I have an extra 14 minutes to start on my homework. Isn’t it great how the HP company made a device that can prevent students from staying up until midnight trying to complete their homework?

Overall, I would rate this HP Chromebook 4 out of 5 stars (★★★★☆). This Chromebook deserves this rating because it meets my expectations of starting up, shutting down, and loading websites quickly. However, it doesn’t deserve the full score because the amount of mobile data provided was inflammatory to the point that I cannot exaggerate on this any more; it feels like I ordered an elephant but received a mouse instead. Therefore, this Chromebook is convenient in terms of weight and speed, but it can be improved if T-Mobile can be willing to provide enough mobile data to satisfy users of this Chromebook.
