Week of Nov. 16-20

November 19:

I am so proud of how well so many of you did on the Science DPM! You studied hard, you showed all of your thinking and it paid off! Congratulations!

November 18:

Math: We constructed fractions that were close to one whole and close to zero. As the numerator gets larger, and as the denominator stays the same, we get closer to one whole. As the numerator gets smaller with the denominator staying the same, we get closer to zero. Unit fractions, despite the size of the denominator, are close to zero.

Science: We reviewed all science class for the DPM tomorrow. I know that you are prepared, and I know that you will put forth your best effort! Remember the five keys to success:

1. Read carefully.

2. Circle key words and phrases.

3. Label pictures, and write out notes.

4. Eliminate wrong answer choices.

5. Bubble carefully.

November 17:

We attended the Houston Symphony Concert at the Berry Center, and it was very enjoyable! Watching musicians perform such amazing music is truly a great experience, and we are so thankful that we were given the opportunity to attend. Thank you for showing proper respect and behavior and for representing Birkes with honor!

November 16:

I was out today attending my wife's grandmother's memorial service in Oklahoma, but I am so proud of how well you worked for Ms. Sharma. She had nothing but great things to say about you, and I am thankful for all of the hard work you put forth today!
