Math: Adjacent angles are angles that share a common vertex and a common ray but do not overlap. To find the measure of an angle that is the result of two adjacent angles, simply add the two angle measures together. If you have the total measure of the large angle, but are missing one of the inside angles, subtract the known angle measure from the total angle measure to find the unknown angle measure.
Science: Looking at photos of animals was a great way for you to determine inherited traits, or traits that were not learned, and learned behaviors, actions that the animals learn through experience.

Thursday, March 3:
Math: When we are looking for the measure of an angle, look to see where both rays cross on the protractor and subtract the smaller measure from the larger measure.

Wednesday, March 2:
Math: Don't forget to always use your STAAR chart to determine if an angle is a right angle. Acute angles measure LESS than 90 degrees. Obtuse angles measure GREATER than 90 degrees. Straight angles measure 180 degrees.
Science: We pulled up some weeds today to better observe the inherited traits of plants. Check out the photos below! We also watched a video on the venus fly trap which was really interesting!

Math: Regular polygons are equilateral and equiangular. Irregular polygons will contain sides of different lengths as well as angles that are different measures.
Science: We saw how living things interact with each other in an environment, whether by providing food for each other, helping each other, or competing with each other.

Math: Equilateral means that all of the sides in a polygon are the same length. Equiangular means that all angles within the polygon are the same measure.
Science: We planted some grass seeds today to see if the amount of sunlight or the amount of water have any effect on its growth.
