Week of April 25 - 29

Monday, April 25:

Math: Your work on the time problems has been great! Don't forget to show a SEE chart and a timeline for every problem.

Science: Predicting the life cycles of the organisms was a great way to think about how these organisms begin their lives.

Tuesday, April 26:

Math: I am so proud of how you have worked on the STAAR reviews! To help you prepare, I will give you reviews that are based on your math needs from the Benchmark.

Science: We watched some amazing videos on the beginnings of life in certain organisms. Most mammals will lay eggs, but the duck billed platypus is an exception. Insects go through metamorphosis. We saw some similarities and differences between the 6 life cycles we discussed, including they all reproduce, but some animals give birth to live young, while some lay eggs.

Wednesday, April 27:

Math: Keep working hard on the reviews! We will have an April Checkpoint on Monday.

Science: We began reviewing the concept of food chains today. Remember that the sun's energy provides energy for the producers (plants) which provide energy for the herbivores (plant eaters), which provide energy for the carnivores (meat eaters).
