Week of Feb. 22-26

Friday, February 26:

Math: It's one thing to be able to identify names of shapes; it's another thing to be able to tell the attributes of that shape. You did a great job with the two IMN pages today in identifying characteristics of quadrilaterals. Keep studying those pages.

Science: We worked on a Eekoworld Webquest on different types of environments. I have added that website to my "website" tab. Go check it out!

Thursday, February 25:

Math:

"Acute, Right, Obtuse,

Acute, Right, Obtuse,

These are the three angles,

Acute, Right, Obtuse.

Acute is SMALL.

Obtuse is the WIDEST of them all."

Science: Our next unit of study is on ECOSYSTEMS. We learned that ecosystems are comprised of living things (plants, animals) and nonliving things (sunlight, oxygen, water, soil, rocks).

A population is a group of the same species living in the same place at the same time.

A community is a group of organisms living together and interacting.

Wednesday, February 24:

Math: We have begun a unit on Geometry. We started with lines: parallel, intersecting, perpendicular.

"Parallel lines, parallel lines,

They run side to side.

If they're perpendicular lines,

A square corner they will provide."

Science: Keep studying every night to continue becoming better scientists!

Monday, February 22:

Math: I am so proud of how well so many of you did on the February Checkpoint! Some of you made your highest score ever on a Math assessment this year, and I am so excited for you! Keep up the great work!

Science: I know that you are ready for the DPM! You will show amazing scientific knowledge tomorrow! Remember to read carefully, show your knowledge, eliminate incorrect answers, and bubble carefully. Good luck!

Right stands TALL.
