Week of Jan. 19-22

Friday, January 22:

Math: We began a unit on Input/Output Tables. Knowing your facts will greatly help in mastering this concept. Check out the video below:

Science: An electromagnet is a temporary magnet. You increase its force by wrapping more coils around the nail or metal object in question.

Thursday, January 21:

Math: Your work on the January Checkpoint was amazing! I am so proud of how well so many of you did on the assessment, and know that your hard work and efforts have paid off! Certificates will be coming soon. Congratulations!

Science: Conductors allow electricity to flow (metal, aluminum foil, brads, paperclips, water, etc.). Insulators won't let the electricity go (cotton, rubber, glass, plastic, wood, etc.)

Math: You are ready for the Checkpoint! Read the questions carefully, show your work, check your work, and bubble carefully and you will be successful! Good luck!

Science: When a switch is used in a circuit, a switch that is UP now creates an OPEN circuit (electricity will not flow); a switch that is DOWN now creates a CLOSED circuit (electricity will flow).

Tuesday, January 19:

Math: Adding and Subtracting decimals is fairly simple. make sure to LINE UP THE DECIMALS and BRING THE DECIMAL DOWN!

Science: Series circuits have one path for the electricity to flow; parallel circuits have more than one path for the electricity to flow.
