WHR March 2018

ANNOUNCEMENT

The 10th Anniversary of the Re-launch of World Haiku Review

World Haiku Review was originally launched in 2000. With a brief period of suspension, it was re-launched in March 2008. This year, we are therefore celebrating the tenth anniversary of this re-launch and the current issue is its commemoration.

The celebration will last until March next year. We wish to take this opportunity to thank our readers sincerely for supporting us and for sending their fine submissions. I personally would also like to thank in public the other editors who have worked indefatigably and unselfishly to make this anniversary possible.

For celebrating the anniversary, we are planning two projects and one exciting idea. They are:

(1) Publication of an e-book: A collection of all the past ten years’ prize-winning haiku poems, honourable mentions and those of editor’s choice, which appeared in WHR plus the winner of the Award mentioned below;

(2) The R. H. Blyth Award: This time it will be targeted on haiku poems. The Award-winner will be published in the above e-book, together with runners-up. [The details will be announced in due course]

(3) A Haiku Meeting: An idea is being floated of having a haiku meeting in India. This is still just that, an idea. Volunteers are called upon to help us to turn this idea into reality. If and when it happens, it will be an enjoyable and memorable event.

With very best wishes,

Acting Editor-in-Chief : Susumu Takiguchi

Deputy Editor-in-Chief : Kala Ramesh
