Eligibility: Shelter serves children (ages 0-18) and families in crisis (self-referral or Children’s Division referral); Child Advocacy Center is available to law enforcement, DFS, juvenile office, and prosecuting attorney; counseling is open to any individual or family affected by child abuse.

A warm and safe place to sleep during the winter months. Room At The Inn is a winter warming shelter operated as a collaboration between the local congregations of Columbia. We are a dedicated group of volunteers who care deeply for the people in this community, especially those in need. When the cold winter months come, the various partner congregations come together and ensure that the local homeless population has a warm, safe, and comfortable place to stay. The On-Site Managers are responsible for overseeing evening and overnight operations at the host site including supervision of both guests and volunteer staff.

Depending on supply, families can receive formula, clothes, furniture, toys and other necessities.

Hours: Referring agency representatives may contact St. Raymond’s Society on behalf of a client at 573-777-1498, Monday - Friday between the hours of 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Services: St. Raymond’s Society House is a transitional home for expectant and newly parenting mothers. Provides resources to mothers in need to become self-reliant and prepare them to give their child the security of a stable home. Offers additional support to pregnant and newly parenting woman who do not need housing but face other challenges, including financial assistance and baby supplies when funds allow. 

Fee: Free of charge 

Eligibility: Clients must be expectant or newly parenting mothers. Mothers and children five years old or younger may be eligible to live at St. Raymond’s Society House with their children. Residents of SRS House must be 18 years old or older. 

Intake Procedures: Referral from another agency and application process. 

Required Documentation for Services: St. Raymond’s Society application from referring agency, state ID, background check.

Population Served: Mother – Clients must be 18 or older to live at SRS House, however no age restrictions on clients living outside of SRS House

True North serves those who are fleeing or would like to flee abusive domestic or sexual violence situations. Victims of domestic violence include those who are being abused either, physically, verbally, emotionally and/or psychologically by an intimate partner. Sexual violence victims include those who have been a victim of rape, sexual assault/harassment, human trafficking or stalking. We have a 24/7 hotline that you can call and an emergency shelter. We also provide orders of protection, case management, crisis intervention, counseling, support groups, domestic violence/sexual assault education, court and hospital advocacy, children’s services and outreach to any victim regardless of whether they are residing in our shelter or not.

Fee: All services of FREE and confidential for victims and their minor children

Eligibility: Must be experiencing domestic or sexual violence and wanting a safe way out of or a safer way to stay in the relationship.

Housed on the third floor of the church building, Turning Point is a daily basic needs provider and referral center for our neighbors living on the streets of Columbia. Trained staff to move folks out of homelessness. We offer showers, laundry facilities, sock exchange, internet access, cell phone charging, telephone access, a mailing address, personal storage, and many other things.
