Day 6

Iniciem la jornada amb la classe de matemàtiques. La Srta. Polytimi, tutora de 6è de Primària, és l’encarregada de presentar el nou tema. Avui toca les figures geomètriques i les seves propietats (el punt, la recta, l’angle, el triangle…). Els alumnes surten a la pissarra, dibuixen amb diferents regles algunes de les figures i calculen les mesures de cada costat, així com la totalitat de la figura. 

Seguidament, visitem l’aula d’acollida, a càrrec de la Srta. Miltianna. Ella és la mestra de grec, llengua que imparteix a nens i nenes de 1r fins a 6è d’Educació Primària. Ens explica que tenen alumnes procedents de diferents països, principalment de: Geòrgia, Albània, Bulgària i Síria. També expressa que les classes de llengua grega tenen una duració entre 2 i 5 hores setmanals. I que els alumnes poden arribar a romandre un màxim de cinc anys a l’aula d’acollida. 

A continuació, anem a la classe de la Maria Meraki, on observem com els alumnes, continuen treballant amb el projecte e-Twinning. Avui, els alumnes llegeixen els textos que la resta d’escoles que participen al mateix projecte han escrit i comparen els seus esmorzars amb els d’altres països.

Un cop finalitzada la sessió de llengua anglesa, en reservem un espai per explicar tot el funcionament i burocracia relacionada amb el nostre projecte, escoltar les inquietuds de les dues parts i parlar de futures col·laboracions tant a nivell eTwinning i Erasmus+.

Abans de marxar, seguim mostrant les nostres habilitats esportives, 3 punts i cap a casa!

We started the day with math. Ms. Polytimi, 6th grade tutor, is in charge of presenting the new topic. Today it was about geometric figures and their properties (the point, the line, the angle, the triangle...). The students went to the blackboard, drew some of the figures with different rules and calculated the measurements of each side, as well as the totality of the figure. 

Next, we visited the newcomers language class, with Miss. Miltianna in charge. She is the teacher of Greek, a language she teaches to boys and girls from 1st to 6th Primary Education. She explained that they have students from different countries, mainly from: Georgia, Albania, Bulgaria and Syria. She also stated that Greek language classes last between 2 and 5 hours per week. And that students can stay in the newcomers language class for a maximum of five years. 

After that, we went to Maria Meraki's class, where we observed how the students continued to work with the eTwinning project. Today, the students read the texts that the other schools participating in the same project wrote and compared their breakfasts with those of other countries.

Once the English language session was over, we set aside some time to explain the organisation and bureaucracy related to our project. We also listened to the future concerns of both parties and talked about future collaborations both at eTwinning and Erasmus+ level.

Before we leave, we continue to show off the sports skills of one of the members, a 3 point bucket from downtown!
