This was my first attempt at sequencing B-roll, and an interview in a single clip. I tried my best to get interesting shots from around the school building. The interview was concise and i did my best to keep the viewer engaged. Was the shot to the word college a little on the nose, yeah.
This was the first real "in the field" work we did as a solo project. I enjoyed covering a class with so much to offer, and the chance to engage with students and teachers from outide our class. The Process was something I was still getting down, and I think this video was the first time I captured a longer form intruiging story.
I was excited about the production of this video as I had a personal interest in the information I was sharing. This video was shot on an Iphone and I tried getting the most out of its camera capabilites. This was the first time I branched into using more text features.
In this clip I was able to capture a space I am familiar with, and the people that often inhabit it. This clip is one of my personal favorites and seperate from the technical objective of the assignment. I think I best caputured the energy and emotion of a space through this short video.
In this assigment I had the chance to sequence a longer clip relating soley to in school activities. It was a good challenge coming up with three minutes of interesting sequences from around the school. The interview was informative with a unique studen perspective, and I think the clip tell an important story.
The buisness profile was a great oppertuinity to take what we had been learning and apply it in the field. I am greatful that I was able to capture such an interesting story and find such a unique buisness. I pushed to tell a story beyond the buisnesses set purpose, and specifically with this piece to highlight their place in the community.
In video broadcast Production I took away equal parts knowledge in video making and storytelling. Every piece of technical knowledge we were given also served as an important tool for conveying information and emotion. I enjoyed the challenges that came with certain projects, and a willingness to create outside your comfort zone was essential for succeeding in the course. Being able to grow as a creative while acquiring new skills was one of my favorite parts of the course, as I take many elements of what we learned to other creative pursuits. Lastly this course was a great exercise in time management in a creative setting. Along with what it requires to get your work out the door, and to meet requirements that would be essential out in the real world.
