This photo is really cool to me because it was from our First Photos project and the editing is spectacular. The day we took these, the sky was light and the sun was out but my editing shows a dark, gloomy day with the flag tucked in due to the weather conditions.
I chose this photo from my Selective Focus folder because I think the focus is sharp and only has one possible subject. It creates a strong atmosphere in the photo that is pleasing to the eye.
This Strong Subject photo is easily one of my most colorful. The editing is really light on this because the color was popping off of the vase like no photo I had taken, even the black on the vase was very prominent in the image.
I enjoyed this image because it was Jacob's idea to use the car window as a framer in my Subframing collection. His expression brings the photo to a new height and creates a fun photo.
This photo from the Subframing Collection really shows Andrew's calmness within the frame. The frame creates Andrew's own world where he is mentally, peaceful.
I will remember this photo from my Layers and Blending Modes collection because Evan threw on random clothes for the image. I think the Bokeh layer and basically cutting his face in half by color in Photoshop.
The Taking a Walk project taught me more about editing. The Lightroom presets gave me a new perspective into the colors of an image and I was able to pick presets that fit my pictures perfectly.
Kellen stood very still during this Bur image, which emphasized the photo's character. Everything else in the photo is blurred and every viewer knows that Mikey is about to slide in but Kellen doesn't.
This collection was really fun because we had full creative freedom to do mostly whatever we wanted with the pumpkin. My shots are special because they capture each stage of the carving.
This photo is special to me because it traced the scream design pumpkin in the carousel above. I did a successful tracing and put it in a great spot to add to the spooky atmosphere of the photo.
Ruby's smile and expression make this Selective Color photo so special. I decided to only edit the pillars of wood in front of her to represent her expression and happiness even though she is engaged by the fence.
This image is from my Selective Color project and the black and white is only in the background, making the color pop in the front. The selective focus was really good on this photo but the editing really made this photo great.
I like this photo from the RGB Color Blends collection because it looks like I'm shooting a jump shot in a basketball game. I was on my heels when shooting the image but I'm actually on my heels in both photos.
This Microskills project showed me how truly crisp focus can get. The project gave me a basis for how selective focus works and has helped me in all my projects since.
This Mood Portraits photo of Evan is really cool because of the sharp focus. His hair and eyes look menacing in this photo in a way I've never seen because of the way the camera focuses on the top half of his face rather than the bottom.
The first time I saw this photo I thought it was just Sione and Nick playing soccer but as I looked more I saw something really cool. Kasey is jumping in his frisbee game and I caught him in the air in this photo. The two main points of the image are also on the Rule of Thirds line.
Evan's quick journey to the other side of the hallway in this Ghosts' project. As Evan was fast to get over, he is barely in the middle of the photo and it is hard to see his feet, almost making him look like an actual ghost.
This is my favorite photo of the semester for a couple of reasons. First, I'm very proud of my editing of the clouds because it made the background pop. Also, Nick is a strong subject in this photo and looks excited and like he is on top of the world.
This Toys image has such a light and peaceful tone. The editing I did on this photo was very important as it created a crisp background.
I'm most proud of my editing on this RGB Blending Modes photo. I thought my color selection told a story and I also did a fading effect on the person getting punched that made it seem like he was getting rocked by the puncher.
Photography 1 has taken me by surprise. I thought that this would be like any other elective and I wouldn't fully be enjoying myself but I was wrong. I looked forward to 4th block and everything that comes with Photography class. I've also learned so much and my dad really loves that I enjoy this class because he is a video producer and we now share a similar interest. My favorite project was the RGB Blending Modes because I enjoyed making the photos and editing them. The great part of this class is the creative freedom. Even though there were criteria to each project, we have the opportunity to make the project what we wanted it to be.
