I chose this video because it is probably my favorite that I made throughout this class. I think a lot of it went well, from the line on the basketball, to the voiceover, to the b-roll. One thing I learned after creating this video was that it is very important to make sure you speak up and talk confidently when doing a voiceover.
This was my elective profile and it was also very close to being my favorite video of this class. I really enjoyed making this video and I think it turned out very well. The interviews were great and all of the b-roll with the natural audio was perfect. This was the first time we went out and had to get interviews and b-roll "on the fly" and I think there was a lot I learned from it.
This was my WALLDO video where I learned a lot about different angles and shots you can get instead of basic still shots. I liked this project because I learned a lot of things I would then later use for the rest of my videos in the class. Despite it being my first time getting shots like these I think they turned out surprisingly well.
This was my video for our "Six-Word Story" project where we were tasked to create a six-word focus statement and stick to that with a six-shot video. I liked how this whole video pieced together and had a sense of repetitiveness and kind of reversed halfway through. Looking back I think I could get more variety of wide, medium, and tight shots but other than that I really enjoyed creating it.
This was my video for our "Routines Narrative" project. I got to capture Julian's day in a short one minute video, showing how he gets to each class and what he does throughout his time at school. Looking back I would consider getting more shots of him in action, however I liked the way everything flowed in the video.
This was my video for our "Midterm Profile" project. I liked making this video because I got to experiment with a lot of different angles and framing shots. I think most of them turned out pretty good and I would definitely look back on this project for inspiration in the future.
After taking this class this semester, I look back knowing how much I learned. I learned that video is not easy. There is so much going on behind the final product that you wouldn't know about until you try it for yourself. I got to learn about different angles, interview framing, capturing good audio, and so much more including how to cover up things like jump cuts. I learned a lot in this class and regardless of whether I take another video course in the future, I don't think I'll forget any of it.
