This photo is from the One Light Challenge. I enjoyed all the props that were available for us to use, it made it more fun and interesting. I used the light from the side in this photo. I liked this photo the best because of the pose Sione is in, I feel it makes for a very dramatic feeling.
This photo is from the Freeze and Blur assignment. I really like this photo because of the story that can be interpreted. To me, this is the two in the back fighting and Nick coming in to stop the fight.
This photo is from the abstract assignment. This photo genuinely makes me uncomfortable. The cracks and the shadows create a very eerie and strange sight.
This photo is from the abstract assignment. I really like the vibrant colors and textures in the photo. When editing this photo, I wanted to bring out those highlights and deepen the shadows.
This photo is from the Drawing Oer Photos assignment. I enjoyed figuring out which pictures to use and seeing them come together. It was challenging to draw the finer details like the hair. Keeping a steading hand drawing with the mouse was also challenging. I learned how to adjust certain segments of a line in Illustrator.
This photo is from the Drawing Over Photos assignment. I traced over a picture of a shoe I took from the shoes assignment and put it over a picture of Sione from the Birds Eye view assignment.
These photos are from the Toy Story assignment. I had a lot of fun playing with the toys and trying to figure out what story to tell. Setting the scene with all the different toys was a lot of fun.
This photo is from the Layers and Blending Modes assignment. I made it look like Nick was looking out into a strange world or dimension, using textures and changing the colors. I really like this one because it's only in the window.
This triptych is from the triptych assignment. I decided to take these pictures to showcase Strath Haven’s football field and the environment they play in. I took down the exposure a little bit because when I took the photos it was really sunny outside. I also made them all have a warmer tone to them to look more like a fall day when football would usually be played.
This photo is from the Vacation assignment. I had a lot of fun making this picture. I thought of where I wanted to go on vacation and thought of the beach. I wanted to do the classic pose with the sun.
This photo is from the Gratitude assignment. Deciding what to make this project about, I thought about what I am grateful for. One of those things was music. I could not live without music because it always brings my mood up and helps me connect with other people I meet. There are countless times when I am in a bad mood and will listen to music and be cheered up. There is so much to be grateful for music and that is why I chose to make an album cover titled “Gratitude”. I wanted to go for an old-school hip-hop album cover: my main inspirations being Nas’s Illmatic and NWA’s Straight Outta Compton. To do this I gathered together pictures I took of Sean and Sione with headphones on, a picture of an old man in a grateful pose, a picture of musical scales, a frame, and a textured pattern. I used masking to cut out the background of my photos of Sean and Sione. I used blending and adjustment layers to blend all my images, colors, and textures together. I also put text over my complete image for the title of the album cover.
This photo is from the Deconstructed assignment. This one was a bit of a challenge, but I was able to figure it out.
This photo is from the Freeze and blur assignment. I was able to use a high shutter speed to capture the slide tackle.
This photo is from the One Light assignment. I used the candle lights to get the light from the front to light up Nick's face.
These photos are from the Reflections assignment. I liked figureing out all the different types of reflections while walking throughout the school.
These photos are from the ghosts assignment. I really liked how all of them turned out. I used a long shutter speed to capture the movement.
This photo is from the portrait assignment. I used the rule of thirds by putting Nick on the left grid line. I like Nick's position in the photo, but I think that the focus could have been a little better in this photo.
The first photo in this slide show is the first photo I took in this class. My friends and I all thought it was a very funny picture, so we recreated the picture as many times as we could.
This photo is from the RGB Color Blends assignment. During this process I learned how to change the colors of my images and blend two of them together. I like how I was able to experiment with the images and colors, and I feel my images came out well.
This photo is from the Triple Exposure assignment. In the images, I turned down the opacity to not cover my face as much and to give it a softer feel. In my layers, I added a linear gradient that had the blues on the top and bottom with the transition to white in the middle.
This photo is from the RGB Color Blends assignment. I made this picture look like I was hugging myself.
This class has been such a great class. I have been able to learn so much about the cameras and how to take amazing photos. We also learned a lot in Photoshop and how to use different techniques to enhance our photos. We even learned a little bit about video in this class. We cover so much stuff in this class and I learn so much more than I thought I would. I had a lot of fun walking around the school taking pictures with my friends. I was able to be so creative in this class and would definitely recommend this class.
