Back in the Autumn term the Anti Bullying Committee met with their classes and decided that the Friendship Stops around the school needed updating.
What is a Friendship stop?
We have these positioned on the playgrounds so that if children have no one to play with they go and stand next to the stop and someone will ask them if they want someone to play with. These prove very useful for those children who find it difficult to communicate their needs and for those children who lack confidence in making new friendships.
The Anti Bullying Committee ran a competition to design new friendship stops and they selected 5 winners. We now need your help. Does anyone have any contacts who are able to help to transform these designs into Friendship Stops either as banners or free standing signs, see images . If you can help please email me josmith@woottonprimaryschool.org.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who visited our Book Fair week. We were thrilled to see so many children and parents exploring our selection of books and authors.
The success of the Book Fair would not have been possible without the support of our school community. We're grateful for your enthusiasm and for helping make reading a priority for our children.
We hope you've enjoyed the Book Fair and look forward to another exciting event in the future!
Our Young Voices choir had an amazing time at BP Pulse Live in Birmingham this week. They were joined by around 6,500 other children from schools across the country, and it was fantastic to see them all come together to make music.
The choir had been rehearsing for months with Mrs Culley, and it was great to see their hard work pay off. They were also lucky enough to have special guest performers, including MC Grammar and Andy Instone.
A big thank you to all the parents who came to watch on Wednesday - we hope you enjoyed the performance as much as we did. We're very proud of our Young Voices choir and all that they achieved.
They worked really hard to make the evening special, and it was wonderful to see them have so much fun singing with all the other children.
More photos of this event will be shared on our social media pages
As a parent, it can often be such a worry with regards to our children.
But there is support out there.
If you have any concerns about your child, including their mental health, we can help and there are other organisations that offer support and guidance. Please speak to your child's class teacher or contact the charity Young Minds on the details below.
The WSA are still looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with organising enjoyable events such as fayres, discos, movie nights, and more. We also need assistance with initiatives like Healthy Tuck, Easter Raffles, and sales for Mother's and Father's Day.
Can you spare a little time to help us keep these activities vibrant for your children? If you’re interested in getting involved, please reach out to the school office at office@woottonprimaryschool.org
Your support is vital, and without it, we may struggle to continue these events. Thank you!
Did you know that the WSA now has a presence on social media with both a Facebook and Instagram account? This is an exciting opportunity for you to stay connected with them and be the first to know about upcoming events!
